The residential area within Level 324.
Level 324 is renowned for its abundant resources and safe environment. No known entities exist within Level 324. Even though some reports suggest the possible appearance of entities within the level, these remain unconfirmed. Level 324 resembles a large shopping mall located in an arid plain, along with the roads outside it.
Most areas inside the mall are empty, but the corners of each area are stacked with large quantities of supplies. The temperature in Level 324 is typically maintained above 30°C, making it generally hot, but it does not cause dehydration in the wandering wanderers within the level. The level experiences intense stellar radiation, but it is not glaring.
Level 324 appears to extend infinitely overall. When wanderers explore outward, all environments within the level show no significant differences, only slight variations in structure compared to other areas. Level 324 as a whole is similar to Earth, but all areas consist of the mall, roads outside the mall, and arid plains. The star outside is approximately 2-3 times the volume of the Sun.
There are no satellites orbiting Level 324, so during the night, there is no moon-like satellite hanging in the sky. The sky within Level 324 contains no celestial bodies. Level 324 has a complete day-night cycle, typically 30 hours per day, with 18 hours of daytime and 12 hours of nighttime.
The mall in Level 324 is spacious and empty. Upon entering, wanderers will find the interior remarkably cool. The overall decoration of the mall interior is very simple and monotonous in color, using only white and light blue for accent walls. The mall contains numerous staircases and rooms, often combined in highly complex ways, making it easy for wanderers to get lost inside.
The height of each floor in the mall varies significantly. Some floors may be extremely narrow, while others are immensely wide. At first glance, these floors appear devoid of any supplies, but upon closer inspection, one can find fresh fruits and vegetables in the corners. Under the mall's lighting, these fruits and vegetables appear brightly colored and have a slightly higher water content compared to those in other levels. These foods generally provide a greater sense of satiety for wanderers.
The mall contains a large number of people, most of whom have chosen to reside permanently in the level, treating it as their home. Some mall areas have been furnished with items manufactured in other levels. Areas where people live are usually marked with the word "Residential Area." Upon entering a residential area, the reception desk warmly welcomes wanderers. The corridors in the residential areas are filled with the mixed scent of various perfumes. It is important to note that these facilities are not inherent to the level but were built by the wanderers within the level, who have developed unique customs.
There are areas within the mall specifically dedicated to placing other foods, usually located deep inside the mall. These areas contain foods like ice cream and coffee, whose scents are more pronounced than other foods and provide more intense sensory stimulation. The coldness of the ice cream in these areas might give wanderers a false sensation of burning upon their first taste. The coffee in these areas can quickly refresh wanderers even when they are extremely drowsy, with no other side effects on the body.
Outside the mall in Level 324 are numerous highways, toll gates, and parking lots. The highways are built upon the arid plains. Toll gates are located near the junctions of various highways, and parking lots always appear beside the structures. The arid plains are dotted with some short wild grass and shrubs, adding touches of light green to the endless brown.
It is worth noting that occasionally, clay hills may appear sporadically within some vast arid plains. These clay hills are covered in layers of different colors and have extremely complex internal structures. They typically disappear instantly after being explored by wanderers. Currently, we know very little about them. Due to the complexity of the internal structure of the clay hills, it is advised that wanderers do not explore their environments.
The highways always extend endlessly in one direction. The surrounding terrain is very flat. The road surface of the highways usually has undulations in height and is filled with vehicles. It is noteworthy that these vehicles typically do not move; they remain parked on the road surface. Each vehicle is separated by a certain distance, allowing other vehicles to drive through the gaps.
The highway area is the hottest and driest part of the level. The historical maximum temperature in this area has exceeded 40°C. In this area, wanderers might feel their skin and tongue gradually drying, but the body overall shows no symptoms of dehydration. On the contrary, wanderers might even have their bodies automatically replenish water during movement. When wanderers wander on the highways for too long, the humidity in this area will increase sharply, and clean water enters the wanderer's body in an unknown way.
Sometimes, hot winds blow across the highways, which might give wanderers a restless feeling. The highways are usually extremely quiet. Everything entering this area remains silent, including sounding tape recorders, automatic loudspeakers, etc. These items are all affected and cannot produce loud noises.
The interior decoration of the toll gates appears very simple: a combination of a bed, display screen, water dispenser, sink, and a few tables. The tables usually have ordinary notebooks with lined paper and black ballpoint pens with about half the ink used, all placed very casually.
Everything on the bed—mattress, bed frame, sheets, pillow—appears old and retro. Their decorations often evoke people from different eras' fond childhood memories. If a wanderer has not had such experiences, they will simply ignore the bed. The display screen looks like an old model, neatly marked with several parameters in pixelated font. The display screen can be controlled by a mouse carried by the wanderer, even if the mouse and the display are not connected or are of different models. The display can be used to play simple MP3 or MP4 files and has built-in Wi-Fi.
The outer shell of the water dispenser is made of iron. The rust-covered shell contrasts sharply with the pristine interior. The water from the dispenser inexplicably carries a slightly bitter taste, which conflicts with the inherent sweetness of the water. The sink is simply connected with a few pipes. The water spraying from the sink is usually scalding hot and forceful, with enough impact to deform the basin.
The parking lots are spacious and evoke a sense of loneliness. Although numerous vehicles are parked there, not a single person stays. The heavy smoke inside and the darkness during the black sky intensify this feeling. Large quantities of canned food can be found idel within the parking lots. These canned foods usually taste bland but can quickly replenish substantial nutrients, making them an excellent alternative food source for wanderers in this area.
Bases, Outposts, and Communities
The People of the Residential Area
The People of the Residential Area are the wanderers mentioned above who established the residential areas. They are generally extremely friendly. They have established numerous concentrated bases throughout the vast level. These wanderers are typically very friendly, possess large food reserves, and have mapped out the specific coordinates of all their bases.
The Acquirers
The Acquirers are a relatively scattered group who make a living by initiating wars and robberies, from which they profit. The Acquirers are a community greatly disliked by other communities in the level. Most people within the level's communities have made signs opposing the Acquirers and have even started propagating near the Acquirers' small bases.
